SC Housing’s annual developer roundtable on June 14 drew dozens of interested parties together in person and virtually to discuss the agency’s Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) process.

The event was held at the Cooperative Conference Center in Columbia, but was simultaneously shared virtually using ZoomGov.

The purpose of this event was to engage in a productive discussion of the 2023 QAP, which guides the approval process for the state’s Low Income Housing Tax Credit program, and also included the following topics:

  • Junior Developer Awards
  • County Limits
  • Developer Experience
  • Including Recent Awards in Developer Limits
  • Palmetto Opportunity Index, Affordable Housing Shortage and Funding Sources points
  • State Tax Credit Criteria

“It was a great opportunity to bring developers together again to discuss the critical role they plan in creating more affordable housing in South Carolina,” said Eric Alexander, director of multifamily development at SC Housing. “It’s imperative that we get feedback from developers, who are invaluable partners for our agency. It creates a process that benefits everyone.”
