In August 2018, Bonita Shropshire was named executive director at the SC State Housing Finance & Development Authority (SC Housing), where she provides leadership and oversight for the agency. In this role, Shropshire is committed to making SC Housing a forward-thinking organization committed to making housing affordable on a broader scale by utilizing cutting-edge programs and competitive, market-based products.
Prior to serving as executive director, Shropshire worked as director of Executive Services for SC Housing, where she served in a chief of staff capacity. She is a known and trusted voice in the housing community, and her familiarity with the housing landscape has enabled the agency to strengthen its partnership with a broad group of community partners.
Earlier in her career, Shropshire worked for the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Advocacy Center at the University of South Carolina and the Office of Retired U.S. Senator Fritz Hollings, where she engaged extensively with federal and state authorities.
Shropshire is a native of South Carolina and holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of South Carolina.
